Sometimes the preparation for a first draft reside a little too much in the left part of the brain. All this work I find fun but it does not take of if I also do not engage the right side of the brain before diving into writing the first draft. This part is a little less obvious and doesn't figure as easily on a to-do list. Here I try to break it up anyway.
I knew I wanted a new notebook for my new story idea but I didn't know which one. Instead I adopted the motto "I know it when I see it" This Post also gives five other ways to choose a notebook for your writing
It is a new month and this mean I usually break in a new notebook. This month in addition to my regular moleskin notebook I am going to keep a journal that maps out my adventure trying to write a new novel.
I want to link my journaling more tightly in with my writing practice and novel writing and I will do what is always true of writing - just start.
