Laughter has a way of loosening things up. It reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously.
What if your writing didn’t have to “mean something” today? What if it could just be funny, or weird, or light? Let yourself smile as you write. Chuckle at your own tangents. It all counts.
Larkspur is a bit of a wild one—tall, colorful, and never too serious.
Writing doesn’t have to be deep or meaningful every time. Let it be fun. Scribble. Ramble. Make something silly. Let go of the rules for a bit and just play with words. You might surprise yourself—or at least have a good time trying.
.
Some days feel heavy—and that’s okay. But the Larkspur is here to help lift things, even just a little.
You don’t have to write about hard things today. You can let your words drift somewhere softer. Writing can be a place to take a deep breath, to lighten the mood, or to shake off the weight of the day. Let it feel easy, if you need it to.

Journal snippet | Rose gold clouds across the wide green field of wild flowers. I can feel my shoulders drop. Like the sky saying - it is okay to take a break. Breathe
The best part of having moved is the surroundings. From every view, I can see all the shades of green that nature has to offer—from single blades of grass to the heavy crowns of the trees. This view served me well the other day. I thought I was relaxing, watching television after a busy day, but when I looked up and my eyes caught the beginning of a beautiful sunset, I could feel how much pent-up energy was still residing in my body after the move.
That’s why the rose gold clouds came to mind for this journal question. I’ve been longing for more nature, and now that we have it, I almost forgot to welcome this new daily simple pleasure—enjoying the view.
Looking out the window lightens my day because it reminds me to slow down and breathe. It reminds me that everything has a season, and today’s beauty is here to be savored. Doing something so simple, yet so soothing, reminds me that it’s often the lightest, most simple pleasures that lift my spirit the most.
And from that serene place, I find myself wondering if perhaps a poem is waiting behind the words rose gold clouds.
